The Daxko Culture: Like Jerry McGuire, We Put Our Mission Statement On Paper…

Ah yes… the topic of company culture.  So often bandied about, so difficult to live up to.

jerry-maguire-800-75We’re reminded of super-agent Jerry Maguire, who once put a mission statement on paper and lost his job as a result.  Our favorite part of that Mission Statement?  Kick it for us old school, Jerry:

“Let us work less hard to sign the clients that we know won’t matter in the long run, and work twice as hard to keep the ones who will. I believe in these words, and while they may not yet be true for you, they are true for me. And I ask that you read this with that in mind.”

Replace “clients” with “team members”, and that’s how we feel about talent - it’s reflected in our culture.  We only want the ones who can make a difference, and we talk about it every single day.

Can you make a difference?  Are you different than the rest of the folks around you?  Really?

Then you’re a fit for the culture at Daxko.  And while we have a lot of cool stuff going on at our offices (hit the cool stuff section for the details), our culture runs much deeper than the superficial items like groovy furniture and scooters.  Need proof?  Here’s the two solitary components to the Daxko Mission Statement:

Commitment to Customers. Our customers’ success is our driver. We put ourselves in our customers’ shoes. We aim to understand their needs and to be responsive to those needs. We are in partnership with our customers. We believe in service before reward.

Commitment to Team Members. Provide our team members with opportunities. Focus on their development and growth. Strive for a healthy balance between work and home life. Always be fair, open, and honest.

Before you tell us “that’s boring”, think about it.  Just two items to the Mission Statement – Customers and Team Members.  That’s all you need to know.  Sure, you get the flip-flops, the free lunches and the scooters as part of the deal, but our culture is based on a simple belief: If we do a great job of attracting the best talent we can, then develop and take care of that talent, the talent will take world-class care of our customers.  Business success naturally follows.

Rinse and repeat.  Film at 11.

Which means our culture is built around finding the best, putting them in a competitive environment and giving them what they need to perform.  Which brings to mind another quote from Jerry:

“I will not rest until I have you holding a Coke, wearing your own shoe, playing a Sega game featuring you, while singing your own song in a new commercial, starring you, broadcast during the Superbowl, in a game that you are winning, and I will not sleep until that happens. I’ll give you fifteen minutes to call me back.”

We want you to win in your career.  When you win, we win.  If you’re right for Daxko, we’ll even give you 30 minutes to call us back…
